The Library Gets a “Real” Name! Before 1980, the library was just known as the Albright Library. In May of that year the library was named afer F. Wilbur Gingrich, a natonally recognized scholar and Albright professor of Greek from 1923-1972. Noted for his dedicaton to teaching, his career spanned 49 years at both Schuylkill College and Albright College. He won internatonal recogniton for work in translatng the Greek New Testament. Together with Professor Eugene H. Barth, he wrote A History of Albright College, 1856-1956.
