The Albright Library has lived in several buildings on campus since the College was consolidated in Reading, PA. In 1928 the Library moved to the second foor of Masters Hall (which was built in 1920 as the Administraton Building for the earlier Schuylkill College arm of the college) and later moved to the east wing of the frst foor of Teel Hall. But space became an issue and under the leadership of President J. Warren Klein, the college began to plan for a separate library building located in the heart of the campus that could hold 20,000 volumes. They decided to renovate the space occupied by the gymnasium (currently Alumni Hall).
