How to Fund the New Library? Finding money to create a Library building during the Depression took ingenuity. The college had three plans to collect the $5,000 needed to supplement the $6,500 library fund money: Get alumni class organizers to ask for donatons. “Sell” windows and parts of the library as memorials, e.g., a large window would cost $50; the freplace, $100; and smaller windows cost $10 and $25. This fundraiser hoped to raise $3,000. Alumni who could not aford a memorial were encouraged to save a dime a day and donate those funds.
