The Widow's House

The house was located in Brush Valley, Centre County, Pennsylvania. In 1831 a widow was about to lose her house to the sheriff, so Bishop John Seybert purchased the house with the hope that she would be able to repay him, if she could without interest. She repaid the full amount to the Bishop.
